トランプ大統領は金曜日の夜に検査を受けた。体温測定も行ったところ体温は正常だったという。結果は研究室に送られ、1、2日で判明するという。

これは、3月7日にトランプ米大統領と会談したブラジルのボルソナロ大統領の側近が新型コロナウイルスに感染していると公表されたことを受けてのものとみられている。
ブラジル大統領府の報道官が新型コロナウイルスに感染。同氏はボルソナロ大統領の側近で7日のトランプ米大統領の会談にも同席、トランプ氏の隣で写真撮影も行っている。トランプ氏は「心配ない」と強気の姿勢だが。

一部メディアでボルソナロ大統領も自身も感染していると報道されたが、大統領自身は自身のTwitterで報道を否定している。
